About Jordan Bernfield:
When Jordan Bernfield decided to start a blog in December of 2008, his soon to be partner in crime Scott Spinelli said, "I mean, it’s a decent idea. But you probably won’t stick with it." Not only has Jordan stuck with the blog, but he and Scott, who joined on two weeks into the operation, (figures, right?) have posted nearly three hundred fifty times before turning their blog into a website today. The two friends have rekindled a chemistry that developed working together on radio in Syracuse, NY for four years prior, and today are excited about the new website they have developed.
Jordan was a high school pitcher that realized his 74 m.p.h. fastball wasn’t going to have the scouts calling, so he decided he needed to find a career that had him around sports if he couldn't play them. This led him to Syracuse University where he graduated in May of 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. After braving the brutal cold weather, the football team, and the lack of sunshine, Jordan spent the summer of 2008 just forty minutes southwest of Syracuse in Auburn, NY. There he became the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Auburn Doubledays, a minor league baseball affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Following this experience Jordan returned to his home town of Deerfield, IL which is just a half hour north of Chicago. He is currently working as voice of the women's basketball team at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC). In addition, he handles the pre and post game show hosting duties for the men's team. He is also a sports producer at WGN Radio, where he produces Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and Northwestern Wildcats games, as well as Chicago's number one rated sports talk show, "Sports Central". He additionally works as football and basketball play-by-play broadcaster for the Region Sports Network out of Northwest Indiana.
Jordan loves contributing to this blog as much as anything else he does in his life. He loves having the chance to give his take on various sports topics (because he never runs out of opinions), podcasting with Scott, and the interaction he has with those that comment on posts. He hopes this blog will continue to progress the way it has. He never thought when he started this in December of 2008 it would be where it is today.

Scott Spinelli grew up with humble beginnings. Raised in a two parent home, Scott attended public school, had friends, and didn't really lack for much. Then, tragedy struck. He was accepted by a number of colleges, all of which his parents agreed they'd work hard to help pay for.
He settled on Syracuse University, a poor choice indeed. It was there he ran into Jordan, and he's been on the family payroll as a "friend" ever since. Secretly, Scott hates sports and actually enjoys literature of the densest kind. When he's not writing for this site or working for a sports radio station or playing sports or watching sports (all to keep up the image of a sports fan, of course) he can be found studying metaphyics (specifically ontology). "The more confusing to the general public, the better", he's been known to say.
Currently he continues to fight an uphill struggle, living rent free with his parents. Some random facts about Scott include the following: he hates the expression "long story short", he lies to girls telling them he's 6 feet tall, he'd love to know more about jai alai, and he enjoys watching other people try to explain why asparagus is anything other than disgusting. |

Born and raised on the streets of London, Alastair did not start berning on American sports until he was 8 years old, when his family immigrated to the Boston area. After losing his charming British accent almost instantaneously, he became enamored with many new sports which surprisingly didn't involve shin guards or the word "nil." As they say, the rest is history, and now Alastair is cleverly disguised as the average American sports nut, with a strong affinity for a certain team that plays wicked hahd at Fenway Pahk.
In his free time, Alastair is an avid and sometimes obsessive golfer, keeps tabs on his favorite boyhood soccer team (Arsenal FC for those scoring at home), drinks unhealthy amounts of chocolate milk and Capri Sun, watches way too much Home and Garden Television for someone of his age and gender, and dreams of the day when he can afford a Dippin’ Dots machine for his bedroom. His obsession with mascots and childish sense of humor have also proven to be somewhat disturbing.
Alastair brings a unique perspective driven by both humor and statistics to Berning on Sports, and cherishes the opportunity to write alongside several of his closest friends on the planet. In addition to writing for Berning on Sports, Alastair co-hosts the "Boston Sports Postgame Show" on 890 ESPN Radio in Boston, which airs weeknights from 10 p.m. to midnight in the Boston area and online at 890espn.com. He has also done play-by-play for Babson College athletics in Wellesley, MA, the Boston Breakers of Women's Professional Soccer, and the Lowell Spinners, a Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

Brad is happy to bring his SportsPants to the crew and hopes to add a new, generally bizarre voice to the site. He is originally from Dallas, but spent several years in New York City where he survived everything from broken radiators to fried chicken-throwing vagrants. Brad recently received his Master's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and is now back in the great southwest where he can drink his beloved Shiner Bock beer while eating green chilis. It is unknown whether Brad is related to Seal the singer or the people who make the Sealy Posturepedic beds.
